The Bridge of Dreams

Only 8 miles from Sunset Ridge Log Cabins, The Bridge of Dreams is near the village of Brinkhaven, Ohio (just outside of Danville on OH-62). The bridge spans 370 feet across the Mohican river making it one of the longest covered bridges in Ohio.

Canoeing and Kayaking

Kokosing Valley Camp & Canoe livery is only 4 miles away from your cabin and offers canoe and tube trips on the Kokosing
Scenic River (designated as Ohio’s first state water trail.) You can rent conoes and float tubes (or bring your own)

Horseback Riding

If you enjoy horseback riding, it’s only 10 miles away at Camp Mohaven. Guided trail rides are available 6 days per week,
Monday through Friday. You’ll find 700 acres of forest trails alongside 2.25 miles of the scenic Mohican River.

Hiking & Walking Areas

You’ll find at least 6 great places to hike and walk in nature during your cabin stay at Sunset Ridge. The Bat Nest Road Area
encompasses 133 acres of wetlands and river access where bald eagles are often seen. It’s only 3 miles from your cabin.

Biking

Book a weekend stay and enjoy three connected biking trails near our cabins! The Heart of Ohio Trail consists of 20 miles of
bike trails with asphalt trail surfaces. The furthest of the three trails from our cabins, it connects to the Kokosing

Visit Amish Country

Locally we have various bulk food stores, Amish bakeries, orchards, cabinet shops and Amish made furniture shops.

Friendly Meadows is just one place (only 7 miles away) to find bulk food, meats and cheeses, fresh bakery items, and fresh-made deli sandwiches.

Knox County is known as the gateway to Ohio’s Amish Country and its a great place to explore and learn the Amish way of life. 

Roscoe Village is a restored 19th century canal era town featuring guided historical tours, a seasonal canal boat cruise and a collection of popular shops and attractions.  Only 27 miles away, the scenic drive and lunch or dinner in the village make for a great outing.
